The summer school of zoology of
Uoion College will next summer be
stationed on one of the Bahama Islands
or somewhere on our Southern Coast.
During the past few years the school
has sdded collections of much value to
the museum of the college.
The ooet of tuition per pupil in the
Chicago schools during the last year,
was $11.40 against $11.46 for the pre
vious year. Superintendent Piokard
estimates that 6,000 children in the
city never go to school, either public
or private, and are growing up in igno-
ranoe and id leness.

Dr. Vulpian, Dean of the Faculty of
Medicine, Paris, says that since 1865
thirty-two women students have pur
sued medical studies under its guid
ance. Of this number, nine have re*
oeived their doctor's diploma. He ex
presses himself as satisfied with the
oonduot and assiduous study of these
ladies.
