A nnmber of festive gentlemen had imbibed a quantity of “tarantula juice,” and by wav of variety began calling each other anything but gebtlemen. One of the party got “on his ear” and pulled.a re volver with the apparent intention of putting au eternal quietus to the noise ot another, whom he fancied bad said t >o much, when a bystander thrust his hand under the filling hammer of the pistol, and tuerebv prevented a drunk en murder. This kind of a thing is getting rather too frequent, and it seems to us that our Marshal might talc - a hand, with credit to hiruselt and profit to the city treasury.— riaiiukalcr.
