Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Gors and son
Of Vancouver B. C. is here this week
.Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Scott.
Airs. Gore and Mrs. Scott are sisters.
Mr. 'Gore is a member of the firm of
Young & Gore Tug Boat company, and
are the originators of successfully tow
ing logs on flat booms. The booms us
ed by the company are of gigantic size
being 1500 feet long and 450 feet wide
with a capacity of 2,400,000 feet of
lumber.
Mrs. M. S. Fuller left Sunday for
Portland 'where she will make her
kome. She was accompanied by her
daughter, Mrs. A. C. She'.ton, who will
spend three or four weeks In the
Rose City. When Mrs. Fuller came to
Toledo one year ago she was com
pletly deaf and the coast climate has
done much toward restoring her hear
ing. Mr. Grable, one of the managers of
the Olalla Poultry Ranch, returned
from Portland Monday after a four
day business visit in the Rose City.

memcber of the Lincoln County Court
Commissioners, arrived in Tolodo
Wednesduy to attend 'he special moat
ing of that body.
' Miss Illah Sherwood left Monday
for Ohio where she will spend six
weeks visiting with friends and re
latives. Miss Sherwood Is a member
of the force of the local Pacific Tel
ephone Co.

W. M. Teele and child of Ecco, Ore,,
arrived here Monday for a visit at the
home of Mrs. Teele's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Lester Waugh. When it comes

Mrs. Lusy Petit of Guide Rock. Neb.,

The Mimami Quarry Co. loaded the
big steam shovel on a flat car in the
local yards Monday and Tuesday and
shipped the big machine to Eddyville
where it will be used on road work.
P. A. Blnford of Burnt Woods pur
chased a Ford truck from Peterson
Bros, lost week. Also Mr. E. H. Stei
meltz of Chltwood is the owner of
a new Ford turing car, purchased from i
the same local concern.
C. B. King of Los Angeles; Mrs.
John Wells, and Mrs. Annie Barnard
of Corvallis arrived Wednesday on the
afternoon train for a visit at the home
of Mrs, C. B. Crosno. They are broth
er and sisters of Mrs. Crosno and this
is the first time in 50 they have all
been together.
E. B. Stewart, formerly of Toledo,
but now of Corvallis, stopped here
Wednesday and met old acquaintances.
He is on hiB way to Newport for a
vacation.
J. Burpee of Newport was a busi
ness visitor Wednesday.
Chris Larsen, farmer of Lower Sl
letz, was a Toledo business visitor
Wednesday.
G. B. McCluskey made a business
trip to the valley this week and re
turned with a new "Dodge" Car.
W. C. BurcrofT,. manager of the Bur
croff Merc. Co., is the owner of a new
Maxwell "gas Buggy."
Wm. Pa'nck, representing Allen &
Lewis of Portland, Ore., was a busi
ness visitor in Todedo Wednesday.
J. B. Booth is remodeling his house
and when completed will have an ex
tra room and new porch. He is also
planning on constructing a garage.
Miss Spicer has accepted a posi
tion at the Lincoln County Bank,
Mr. and MrB. Carl Glldersleeve are
in Albnny this week accompanied by
their little son who Is having tonsils
removed at the hospital there.
O. F. Dixon of Drift Creek was a
Toledo visitor Wednesday.
Attorney E. B. Herman of Portland,
son of ex-Congressman Binger Her
man, was a Toledo business visitor
Monday.
