Hall who has opened den tal parlors in the First National bank bldg., has purchased thiee lots of Dr. Burgess in the southeast part of town and will build a modern bungalow home. Excavation on the ground started this morning. Mr. Hall's fam ily arrived in Toledo Friday from Portland. F. A. Douty of Portland, an official f the Multnomah Box & Lumber Company, was a Toledo business visi tor Afonday. He is tooking into the rehabilitation of the North Line. A crew of 13 men are now at work on this line running ditches and resur facing. Mrs. Feter Frederick entertained the members of tlio "Merry-Go-Uound Sewing club at a 1 o'clock luncheon at her home Wednesday afternoon. Following lunch the ladies spent the afternoon playing cards. See "Humoresque" one of last year's finest productions. . . 17-lt Mrs. L. D. Emerson of Winant re ceived word from Dayton, Wash., of the death of her sister, Lulu. She and her little grand son were out buggy riding when the team ran away and her sister received injuries which resulted In her death four days later. The little boy was not injured, but as ho saw his grandmother lying uncon scious he caught one of the horses and rode one and a half miles for help. The little fellow Ib only 5 years old. Mr. Robertson was the principal of the Toledo High School during the past school term. They will move ' this week to their new home. We are sorry to lose them as they were good neighbors but wish them every success. We understand Lloyd Commons is the new proprietor of the Martin place. Huston Grant haa purchased the Riche place In Harlan and will take possession July 1st. B. O. Young left last week to work on the Highway over by Eddyville. Jesse Johnston came in with his family and household goods in a big Federal truck last week. Mrs. N. L. Grant and children spent several days in Newport visiting Mrs. Chas. Godley. IMrs. C. W. Brown and daughter, Lettie, of Drift Creek spent last week end with N. L. Grant's and C. F. Mc Donald's. GLEN Mrs. O. F. Dickson and daughter, came home from Corvaliis Sunday where Miss Dickson attended school. Mrs. C. W. Brown called on Mrs. W. R. Moore Monday. :M. S. Durbln and a couple of his assistants were In this community the first of the week. A. B. Moore and J. p. Wheeler came over from Mill Creek Saturday night, returning Sunday. Mr. Moore ha quite a sore arm, cutting it with a saw and will be laid up for several days. (O. P. and W. L. Dickson went to Salado on business Saturday. N. J. Walker was visiting at J. K. Wheeler's Sunday. We all enjoy having pH'.e come here on outing parties. We welcome them here. We like to hove our com munity lively. And we can boast of our beautiful scenery and our camping places can't be beat. But In return from these things we ask that they do not set out fires. Last week ssme one set out a fire and destroyed W. R. Moore's goat shed and about fifty rods of fence and only by the aid of Fred Brown, was the house saved. Mr. and Mrs. Moore were at a neighbors and Fred came along and fought the fire. Also last week a fire was set out on the hill back of 'C. W.
