"I know! that the people of Slleta are in need of bridges and, although we of the south side will not reap any benefits from them, nevertheless I be lieve they will be to a man for the Si letz bridge bonds because they know what it moans to be without a bridge. If the good people of the county really knew how sadly we are ln need of this bridge, I am certain there would not be a dissenting vote. ' Although, at my age, I may never expevt to have use of the new bridge fpr many years, if it is built, nevertheless we have a coming generation on the south side who should certainly not be asked to endure the hardships that have ben experienced by the older settlers." Ballots Misleading. There has been some question a mong voters as to whether the bonds it voted would be used for tho actual huildinf? of bridges, the election no tices and ballots stating that the bonds are being issued for the building ot '.'permanent roads." In answefHo this misunderstanding Attorney McCluskey has prepared an open letter to the vo ters, explaining the Oregon state law, regarding the building of bridges. His letter is as follows: for the recall of Fred A. Williams and Fred C. Buchtel. Separate ballots will be used in the case of each of these men In that the voters of the entire state will pass on the question of re calling of Mr. Williams while the voters west of the Cascade mountains will act upon the recalling of Mr. Buchtel. , The petitions filed charge that these men have failed to perforin their official duties in regards to les sening the burdens of the public. On each ballot reasons for Uie recalling .and also reasons why the recall should not be used are explained by both sides In the controversy. The voters of Lincoln County will vote on both men. lAnother proposition that Is creat ing considerable' interest and that wilt be decided at the polls next Fri day Is whether the bridge bonds for the building of bridges over the Si I'.'tz river and one over the Yaquina river will be voted. 1 CARD OF THANKS We desire to express our heartfelt thanks to our many friends mid neighbors for their kind acts and Commission secured all of the data Rust, Jesse Martin, Lottie Langhci and now a . member of tlif Sla-ma Gamma The trP wU1 00 mm,B 1,1 nutnmo- that it could and submitted it to the Harriet Williams of Toledo.
