We wish to announce that we have
taken over tho management of the
.Lincoln County Leader and will hope
vor to learn from their knowledge and ' time permitted, I wish to make this
experiences and, if possible, rroflt
thereby. Our politics is Republican,
but our main object will be to give
to Lincoln county and Toledo a real
publicity medium that will be a credit
to the community. Politics should not
enter into the development of any
municipality that soes fit to crospei
and develop. Let's thresh out our
factional differences in a friendly man
ner and let the will of the majority
have the united support of all.
A newspaper to bo a newspaper
must be the mouthpiece of the com
munity In which It is published. In
order to accomplish this fete it should
have the cooperation and support of
the people. We wlil welcorae at any
time any criticism you may have to
offer and will also appreciate a word
of praise now and then If you see
fit '.o give It.
It will be some little time before w
will be able to put out the class of news
paper that Toledo is entitled to due
to lack of equipment r.nd not being
acquainted with conditions as they ex
ist. Please accept this as an invitation
to call at the office and get acquainted.

claims for your support,
I believe that from the conditions In
this county, as well as elsewhere the
chief Issue in the campaign will be
law enforcement, especially of the
prohibition laws of the state. I be
lieve that my record as a resident of
the county, as road supervisor for 3
years, and as a constable for a Mk
period, justifies me in saying that if
I am elected, the criminal laws will
be strictly enforced, and that all pow
er at any command will be used for
that purpose, and particularly the
liquor laws. I consider that there is
no other issue before the people
which as deeply concerns the moral
welfare of the people.
I have had considerable experience
ns an officer, and such experience
will be a garantee that no violator
of the law will escape because of
my neglect or Indifference. 1 owe no
obligatien to 'the liquor Interests, or
to the secret violators of the liquor
laws, and pledge my best efforts dur
ing my term of office, if elected, to
the people who believe In a good mor
al community and a quiet law-abiding
people. If I do not succeed in thai,
end, I will be willing to lay down tho
office in favor of some one more in
terested In law observance.
I believe the time has come for a
change and a clean up in Lincoln
county, and pledge my best efforts in
bringing it about. Your support will
be appreciated for that purpose.
