was handled masterfully to stimu
late high and clear Ideals. The pn,
sentation of diplomas by the chairman
of tho school board, A. C. Crawford,
and the benediction by Rev. V. Ross,
was followed by a considerable period
of congratulations, good cheer and
general sociability till the graduates
were loaded with flowers and remem
brances. Tho Long Prairie School held its
closing exercises on Monday after
noon. .Three cars of folks of Siletz
were present including the school
board and principal. The pupils were
enthusiastic and happy In giving the
well arranged program. Mr. Franks
and Mr. Eagy also added some re
marks on 'the program and school
lifo in general. Mr. Franks stressing
the spirit of the board In backing the
best school system possible for the
district of Siletz. Mr. Mahoney of Si
letz sang an impressive solo, and
Rev. Breymer, who Is holding mset-
cock tester, was repaired and adjusted
somewhat, and tho, not In very satis
factory condition it does the work, two
tests from same sample usually agree
ing exactly.
The hih school students are looking
forward to final test on next Tues
day and Wednesday.
The program of events for the next
week Is as follows; Monday at 2 p. m.
Memorial exercises at the M. E.
Church; Tuesday evening, 7th and
8th grade commencement program;
Wednesday evening, Near East Re
lief program of songs, speeches and
stunts (including a minstrel number);
Friday evening, High School com
mencement exercises.
