At tiie moltair pol jale neUl at Ed dyville on May 27ht, both the 1920 and 1921 dipe- of mohair of the Eddyville Pool were sold to Clifford W, Blown, Salem, Oregcn, t 22 '4 cents per lb. Theodore Bernheim & Co. was the only othor biddjr, raising Mr. Brown s former offer of 22 cents a uarter of a cent, but refusing to raise Mr. Brown on his bid of 22 cents, which bought the pool. Last year's pool consisted of 2S.000 pounds and the 1921 clip ap proximately the same figure. With the present market for mohair standing around 18 cents per pound, the concensus of opinion among the Biofteis is Ihut the price is satisfac tory, although far below what the hair is really worth. This Is the lowest price received for mohair during the pas', ten years, the prices during that a 'lie being as follows; 1912 $.3845 1913 .28 1915 .51 1917 .50 1919 .22', 1921 H is gratifying, however, to nole that during the course of the past ten years, the pool has sold for enough above the aveiage market price to bung this year avd last year's price up to the 10-year nrrmal. The Eddy ville pool Is cou'ilueied by the.moii.iir buyers as the bi sl in the state, and so far as known, is the only pool U weather the storm of the unsatisfactory prices of this year and last.
