Jaunlta and Helen Krokstad return ed to their home at Portland yester day morning. Miss Ethel Ross came down from Portland Christmas Eve to spend the Holidays at home. Ed. Stanton and family went to Cor vallis Friday to visit Rirs. Stanton's sister, Mrs. Frank Whittaker, and family. Rich Chntterton of Newport attend ed the masquerade dance here Christ mas Eve. Hrs also carried off one of the prizes for the best sustained char acters, representing a Russian Prince. The measles still hang on in Toledo and new cases continue to develop, J. S. Gaither went to Yaquina last night and will assist in the work of that office for a short time. His place at the dopot here is temporarily taken by Miss Elva Akin. Coll Van Cleve is a Portland visitor this week. Bill Bogue is down with the measles it looks like Bill is big enough to know better. Charley CroBno has been acting as deputy postmaster during the absence lot Postmaster Stanton.
