construction of a drainage gate and
dike will be received by the Board of
Commissioners of Lincoln County
Drainage District No. 1 a. i!:e odice
of the Secretary tn Toledo. Oregon,
until 2 o'clock P. M., Wednesday, Aug
ust 25th, 1920, at which time and place
the bids will be publicly opened and
read.
The site of the work is on Depot
Slough about one hale mile from To
ledo and located In Section 7, T. 11
S., It. 10 W., W. M.
The work consists of the construc
tion of a timber drainage gate and
earth dike containing the following
principal items of work:
Embankment, earth, 4oo cu. yus.
Piling driven, 2800 lin. ft.
Lumber, 20000 f. b. m.
Bolts and nails, 700 lbs.
Outer gates, 1 set.
Inner gates, 1 set.
Work to be commenced within 10
days after the signing of the contract
and must be completed by 1920.
A Dronerly certified check in the
amount ot 6', of the sum of the bid
without conditions payable to Lincoln
County Drainage District No. 1 will
be required with each bid; checks of
unsuccessful bidders will be returned
promptly. A saticfactory surety com
pany's bond for $2500.00 will be re

more than one allotment In any one bid. Should a prospective purchaser
deBire 'o purchase more than one. allotment he should submit a soparato

bid will be considered in connection with the appraised value of each such

Cash in lieu of check will not be accepted and will cause bid to be rejected.
If the bid Mall be accepted, and the bidder shall within thirty day after
due notice ot the acceptance of his bid fail to comply with the term, fit
his bid by making final payment, the money represented by wch check
shall be forfeited to the use of the owner of the land. The checks of all
unsuccessful bidders will be returned to them within ten days after the
opening of bids.
The successful bidder when his bid Is accepted, will be called upon to
pay the sum of $20, in addition to his bid for the land; and also his portion of
the expense for advertising the lund. The receipt of a bid will be considered
evidence that the bidder accepts this requirement. The cost tor advertising
will be kept to the minimum.
The patent Issued to purchasers will contain a provision to the effect
that there is reserved from the lands granted a right of way for ditches
and canals constructed under authority of the United States.
Deferred payments at six per cent interest, on.
Bales exceeding $1000, can generally be arranged,
provided a payment of not loss than twenty-five per cent of the purchase
price is made when the bid Is accepted. The bidder should mention the
allotment number, name of allottee, give the description of the land covered
