WALDPORT COOKING CLUB
Oregon Agricultural College, Cor

reports of the demonstration work of
the Waldport cooking club have been
received by N. C. Seymour, state club
leadert. The club has given two cook
ing demonstrations and another will
be given before the Commercial club
the first Saturday in May, when the
girls will explain the method of put
ting down eggs in water-glass and will
give reasons tor doing; It.

overloaded, and teachers so few, that
the three institutions will have to
close ffie door on at least 1000 Oregon
boys and girls, and perhaps upon
twice that number next fall, unless the
new milage support bill passes .on
May 21.
These three institutions have, when
compared with the year when the pres
ent millage support bill was passed

15 per cent More Classrooms
and less than
4 per cent More Income
The fact that higher education in
Oregon Is in a crisis cannot be said
too strongly. You are urged to work

Sale of Siletz Indian Lands
The following list o Indian lands located on the Siletz Indian Res
ervation. Lincoln County, Oregon, is offered for sale under existing laws.
SEALED BIDS for the same will be received until 2 o'clock P. M., on May 6,
1920, when the bids will be opened for consideration. All bids shall bo
enclosed in a sealed envelope, which must be conspicuously marked "BID
FOR INDIAN LANDS." The DATE of the proposed sale must also be
placed thereon, but nothing else. No bidder will be permitted to include
more than one allotment in any one bid. Should a prospective purchaser
desire o purchase more than one. allotment ho should submit a separate
bid for each, and if he desires to purchase less than an entire allotment,
he may BUbmit a bid for one or more legal sub-divisions thereof and such,
bid will be considered in connection with the appraised value of each such
legal subdivision. No bid for less than the appraised value will be consid
ered. The right to reject any or all bids is Reserved by the Commissioner
of Indian Affairs. ... .
Each bid must be accompanied by a duly certified check, certificate or
deposit or cashier's check on some solvent bank, payable to the order of
Edwin L. Chalcraft, Superintendent, for ten per cent (10) of each bid,
as a guarantee for the faithful performance by the bidder of his proposals.
Cash iu lieu of check will not be accepted and will cause bid to be rejected.
If the bid enall be accepted, and the bidder shall within thirty days' after
due notice ol the acceptance of his bid fail to comply with the terms of
his bid by making final payment, the money represented by such check
shall be forfeited to the use of the owner of the land. The checks of all
unsuccessful bidders will be returned to them within ten days after the
opening of bids.

In advertising this land for sale, and the receipt of a bid will be considered
evidence that the bidder accepts this requirment. The cost for advertising
will be kept to the minimum consistent to giving this advertisement due

that there is reserved from the lands granted a right of way for ditches
and canals constructed under authority of the United States.
Deferred payments at Bix per cent Interest can generally be arranged,
provided a payment of not less than twenty-five per "cent of the purchase
price is made when the bid is accepted. The bidder should mention the
allotment number, nnn;o of allottee, give the description of the land covered
