REGARDING MID-YEAR
EXAMINATIONS
Rewards In the way of exemptions
from Mid year examinations are offer
ed to those pupils having the following
standing:
For tatol exemption: General aver
ago of 85 per cent or better, with av
erage for no subject below 70 per cent,
and wiih no absence or tardy marks
(excusable if on account of personal
sickness or of sickness in the im
mediate family, or if on account of
calamity) and if deportment has at
all times been satisfactory.
For partial exemption: An aver
age of 90 per cent or better in any
subject, with no month's grade below
70 per cent in that subject entitles ex
emption in such subject, provided de
portment has at all times been satis
factory. Beginning Wednesday afternoon,
February 4th, and ending Friday P M.,
February 6th, examinations will' be
given for the benefit of those who do
not classify under the above heads.
In counting the yearly average, the
Mid-year and Final examination grades
will each hive the same effect as one
monthly grade. It Is Intended that
thorough reviews be given In eac.i
subject which has been taught during
the year, and that all members of each
class be required to give the same at
tention to preparation and recitation,
whether they are or not expecting
exemption.'
Those who are exemp t from .all the
examinations will not.be expected to
return during the examinations. If
one has partial exemption, he will be
expected only during the time of the
examination in those subjects in which
he Is not exempt. It should be re
membered, however, tli.it thosa who
thus earn a vacation would of right
lose their exemptions it they should
in any way disturb those who do take
the examinatiors.
In arriving r.t a conclusion regarding
these exemptions, we consider:

C 75; 0 minus 72; tr between 50 and
70.
