The, Highway Commission made the
Court a proposition as follows: viz.

and put the road on grade the High

Court accepted the offer at once, as
tt is eotJiuaiied (that the rocking will
cost several times as much as the
grading, land we are certainly to be
congratulated on eecuring so liberal
an offer.
The Highway engineers are now sur
veying between Wren and BUodgett,
in Benton county. As a.on as they
finiah there, they will be shifted to
the section between Toledo and New
port. The Ccurt hopes to be able to
get this Toledo-Newport section grad
ed and rocked this Fall before the

The Commencement exercises of the
Toledo High Schools were held at the
Dime Theatre Wednesday evening of
this week. Rev. H. E. Bush of New
port delivered an able adress, and Prof
R. J. Davis also gave a short talk. Tho

ted owing to !i lack of time. Mrs. R.
H. H weU. Chairman of the Board of
