The cruise was unexciting except that they run rather low on grub for a while. Ora is only twenty years of age and we don't believe that his record Is anyways near ap proached by any other hunter jof equal age in any vessel of the whole scaling fleet. Ills brother, 'Gene, and Dan Hurley, also went on another vessel. ,Dan Uurlcy was a hunter and 'Gene Copeland waB a bout pul ler. They will also be home as soon as it Is possible. Word comes to ua that Edwin Stantoh was quite sorious'y .hurt at the Agency last Tuesday morning. He drove a wagon under the mill shed at the saw 'mill to haul out n canof under there, when he was caught by a beam, which was lower than ho .thought It was, and was crushed down against the Kelt. O BARNUM & BAILEY CIRCUS COMING ' At last the welcome news has been announced that the young sters and oldsters of this vicinity will have an opportunity to visit the Barnum & Bailey Greatest Show on Earth. This great cir cus will be within easy traveling distanco when it exhibits in Sa lem on September 9. This year Barnum & Bailey announce an all new novelty circus, composed of more for eign acts than ever before. An important feature is. the new, Oriental spectacular pageant, "Persia, or the Pageant3 of The Thousand and One Nights." In this gdrgeous display more than 1,350 persons participate. The Oriental music incidental to the production is rendered by 350 musicians, and 3,500 costumes are worn in the various actions of the pageant. The circus program will be one of unusual novelty and var iety. More than 480 arenlc ar tists will appear in the various acrobatic, aerial and riding num bers, arid an army of fifty clowns on earth will keep the audience convulsed with laughter, Among the new acts to be offered for the first time this season are four great troupes cf Chinese artists, presenting a complete Chinese circus, replete with thrilling aerial and acrobatic feats. The famous Hanneford Family, champion riders ol Europe, are another nev Impor tation, as is also Signor Bagon ghi, Italy's famous dwarf eques trian. More than twenty Irs' ed animal acts will be include in the program, headed by Pal lenberg's two marvelous troupes: of trained bears. The Barnum & Bailey Circup is larger this season than ever before and requires 89 cars to transport it.
