TVno.H. J I - J I -I At Tidewater, Oregon, Wednes day, June 10th, Edward E. Bar clay, Aged 42 years. He was the eldest sun of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Barclay of , Tidewater, Oregon. The deceased had been an invalid for years having sustained injuries 25 years ag last February , while working in a logging camp. Al though a great sufferer all these years he has borne it patiently. And when the messenger called he was ready to go, and in peace and contentment went from the crumb ling house of clay to that home where his God and his Savior had prepared a welcome for the worthy end the just He left his aged parents, one brother and three sisters to follow him some day und although missed here, they know th'at he is out of that s'orm tossed sea, safe, to meet them bye and bye He was laid away June 11, in Tidewater ceme tery, where a large gathering of friends and neighbors paid their tributes of luvc and respect to the deceased and to the sorrowing re latives. Mr. and Mrs. Barclay and family have been residents of Tidewater I on 1 . u n . known and best respected people of the community and have the heart felt sympathy of all who know them in their past cares and present sorrow. Miles McFarlnnd of Portland is visiting at the D. B. Stuart home in this city. County Clerk Marks of Linn county parsed through cn the trsin yesterday morning. Robert Andross and wife pnssed through to Newport Saturday even ing for a visit with relatives. 8 Mrs. W. E. Lingenfeltcr and daughter. Isabel, returned Monday evening from a trip to Corvullis. Mrs. Oliver Altree arrived down irom rortiann Wednesday lor a visit with relatives and friends. j " Merchant Allen Hughes is at Portland this week, where he took his wife to a hospital for treatment. County Commissioner Wm. Wake field was in the city the first of 1 the week attending Commissioners' Court. Messrs. Warren and Walter Hall I of Filets arrived here TucsJay evening in.their new autos, having driven over from Portland. The Toledo Drug Co. this -week installed four large display cases. which thev receited on the steamer Bandon. These cases are large and roomy and will give much more space for the display of goods. Wm. Peterson, of Brown's bridge crew, had hia knee can torn loose Wednesday while working at bridge 60, just this side of Summit. He was brought to Toledo that evening and Dr. Burgess attended him. At the annual school meeting held at the Grammar school build ing Monday afternoon Mrs. A. M. Gildcrsleeve was elected director for a term of three years, to suc ceed J. J. Gait her, and F. N. Hay den was re-elected clerk for cno year. Beginning Mondav. June 22, the noon train will be placed on the run run between here and Albnny, giving us four passenger trains each day. The following ia the schedule: Easthound passenjer leaves Yaquina, 7:30 a.m.; Toledc, 8:16: arrives at Albany 12:20.
