FOURTH ANNUAL LINCOLN COUNTY FAIR, TOLEDO, ORE, SEPT 23, 24, 25, 26, 1913.
There Is a Difference
In the way you care for a
watch. You way have the
very best kind of a watch, but
if you do not have it cleaned
and ciled encs in every twelve
or eighteen months it will only
last a few years. Why? Be
cause the balance wheel of
your watch makes 432.000 re
volutions every twenty-four
hours or 157,680,000 revolu
tions each year. You cannot
expect those parts of a watch
to last long unless thev are
cleaned and oiled. Now is
the time to have that watch
cleaned a id ciled.

Franklin K. Lane. Secretary of
ths Interior, has visited Oregon in
his official capacity and has pro
ceeded on his way to other sections
of his great field where worries and
troubles are as insistent as in this
state. His stay in Oregon, brief!
though it was, has left hundred of
homesteaders and settlers with
lighter hearts and renewed courage
to tackle obstacles to their future
progress which before his coming,
seemed insurmountable. For the
secretary has made it clear that the
Government stands ready to co
operate with the state of Oregon
in the reclamation of its arid lands
and has promised that all honest,
bona fide settlers shall be entitled
to the protection of the Federal
Government whenever their inter
ests are menaced by land sharks or
unscrupulous promoters.
