Dixon of Phila delphia, representing Hon. Rodman Wanamakor, will visit Siletz some time in 1931. He will be accom panied by Inspector McLaughlin, who will be remembered as having prepared a roll of Siletz Indians in 1891. An ooportunty will be given Indians to participate in ceremones similar to those held in New York barbor February 22 of this year, on account of a nation tl monument to be erected in Fort Wadswotth, same having been projected hy Mr. Wanamoker and approved by Con gress and th? President. The same flag used on the above occasion will be used here. Many of tha tribes will participate in the same way It is important that as many of the Indians as possible should te en couraged to be present. As each tribe has a distinctive costume, ard as a record will be preserved of the meeting through phutographa of the Indians who assemble, which will be placed within the galleries cf the national .memorial, it is highly desirable for historical pur poses that Indians who may care to do so should appear dressed in their native regalia, as did the re presentatives of the eleven tribes who raised the flag on the site of the monument in New York har bor. Messages will be delivered to the Indians through the phongraph from the President and from the Secretary of the Interior.;! The -site of the ceremony will be at the jWencv or school.
