Portland has a "Big Sisterhood."
an unique society, which invites

the state of Oregon. This peciety
is qrite informal in itscrganlzatloZ,
its aim being to fclve friendly aid

in Portland or who for any reason
are in need of a "Big Sister." The
work cf the society is not offered

So many girls going to the city
from the country or shiall towns
have fallen into misfortunes through
the want of a friend, or in some
cases have been utterly lost to their

to extend the friendly hand to

If girls, or the parents of girls,

such attention as they may wish on
reaching the city and their welfare
will be looked after by "Big Sis

So many sad things happen every
