James Millard Robertson was born in Hancock county, Illinois, June 13, 1855, and departed this life May 10, 1912. at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Anna E. McClure, 580 East Mission street, Portland, Oregon. He crossed the ph ins with his parents in 1863. Came with them to Toledo February 5, 1870, and lived for seven years on the old homestead on the Olalla, where his brother, J. Pretty conclusive proof that he couldn't do as well else where. The Junior ball teams of New port and Toledo played their first game of the season Saturday and Sunday. Saturday they played on Toledo diamond with a score of 3 to 2 in favor of Toledo. This was ! a swift game it taking ten innings! to decide. At Newport Sunday the playing was not so good, the score running up to 17 to 6 in favor of Toledo.
