Referring to your letter of April
23, 191 2; in the matter of the op
tion filed bv A. M. Haswell of Spring
field, Missouri, on the records of
Lincoln county, Oregon, covering
lands in the former Siletz Indian
reservation embraced in unpatented
entries, wherein you state that said
option has been released by Haswell,
I have to alvise you that there has
been evidence filed in this office
showing that said option was duly
released by Haswell.
The release of baid option, how
eer, does not in any way affect the
investigation being made by this
office, the purpose of which is to
ascertain under what authority said
option was filed. The investigation
will be completed with n a short
time, and upon receipt of the re
port, this office will promptly take
uch action as ia warranted by the
facts contained in said report.

above entitled action to me directed
and dated the 30th day of March,
1912, in favor of Mrs. Annie Jones
and against above named defen
dants for the sum of $1235.76. with
