Births, Deaths and Contagious Dis
eases Must Be Reported.
' ' The State Board of Health has
used all of its persuasive power in
the past several years in the at
tempt to get correct statistics as
required by law. We purpose now
invoking the law and just as rapidly
as possible, we will prosecute every
physician, mid-wife, or underaker
who fails to comply with the sat
ute appended.
Excerpts from the Oregon Law .
"It shall be the duty of all physi
cians, accouchers or mid-wives in
the State to report to the secretary
of the board of health of the city
or county in which they may occur,
all births and deaths, and shall im
mediately report contagious diseases
as .are specified by the State Board,
which may occur under their super-
; vision, with a certificate of the cause
of death, and such correlative acts
as may be required in the blank
forms furnished by the State Board
of Health. "Any person or per
sons, any board of health or the
officers of any corporation who shall
violate any of the provisions of
this act shall be deemed guilty of a
' v misdomeanor and vpon conviction
thereof shall be fined not less than
$10 nor to exceed $100."
