The first dance to be given in the new Oddfellow hall was pulled off last Saturday evening. The floor was good and there was lots of room. TheOddfellows dediction here on the 22d promises to eclipse any thing of the kind ever held in the town. Hie boys are making great preparations to show all who at tend a gotd time. Miss Esther Copcland came over from the state normal at Mon mouth last Wednesday evening for a visit among relatives and friends. She was accompanied by Miss Siz more of Burns. P. A. Miller's construction crew nnisned raising tne jf lr and cpruce mill spur last evening and went to the lower bay this morning to do some clearing away of slides from the right of way. One of the most interesting cases in this term of Circit Court was the criminal case of the State vs. John Allen. This was the stabbing affair at Nashville some weeks ago when A. L. Wilkinson was stabbed by Allen. Thejury acquitted Allen. When a child is in danger a woman will risk her life to pro ect it.
