Gecrge Day is up from his heme in the south end of the county visit-' ing his old school mates here this week. j Mrs. F. A. Russell of Roseburg arrived Tuesday evening for a visit ! with her daughter, Mrs; I. R. Wish- j art, and son, Fred Russell. j The Ladies Aid Society will serve Tea and Cake at Odd Fellows Hall j next Wednesday afternoon. Teal and cake 10 cent3. All are invited. Mrs Estella Blackman, after a visit of several weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Gannon, departed for her home at Portland this morn ing. Next Wednesday evening at Wood men Hall will be given the greatest musical event in Toledo's history. Everyone should make it a point to be there. Miss Ruth Rolfson of Salem vis ited several days this week with Miss Hattie Gillette and Mrs. E. M. Stan ton. She returned home yesterday morning. Superintendent and Mrs. Goin and niece, Miss Hayes, returned yester day morning from Waldport, where they attended the teacher's meeting held last week. Mrs. Fred Stanton and daughter, Miss Etlna, returned last evening from a visit with their daughter and sister, Mrs. L. C. Fox, in the state of Washington. Grading for the R. S. Van Cleve building has been completed and the carpenter work commenced. Mr. Van Cleve intends rushing the work as fast as possible. Mr. and Mrs. O . J. McKenney, after a week's visit with Mrs. Mc Ken'ney's mother, Mrs. Raines, re turned yesterday morningfor their home in Portland. Dr. Humberstone, a former den tist of this place, was in town last Saturday. He and his brother in law came up in their auto to meet the latter's mother, who came in from Portland on the evening train. They will be at Newport for several weeks. Gust Olson has begun the erection o" a building on his property on Hill street. The building will be one story, 50x84 feet, and will pro bably be fitted up as a skating rink or a dance hall. A hard wood floor will be put down. The building will be rushed as fast as possible. FARM LOANS.
