Now that the constitution of the state has been amended, allowing counties to bond for road improve ments, it may be assumed that in terest in better country highways will be greater than ever before in Oregon. There is no question of the truth of Mr. Hill's contention. The road laws of the state arc imperfectly un derstood. The best argument for good roads in fact is to let the people see good roads and use them. It is invariably true that those who are most enthu siastic over good roads are those who, like Mr. Hill, know most aliout them. Every good road, as a natu ral consequence, creates its diciplcs.
