Toledo is now enjoying four daily
mails. The new service went into
effect the first of the week. The
morning and evening trains carry
loel mails but the midday trains
carry only through mails to and
from the Valley. We now get our
Portland and Eastern mail at noon.
L. Osness and family departed
the first of the week for Portland
where they will make their future
home, having sold their place on
Olalla. The Osness family has re
sided here for many years and will
be greatly missed by their neighbors.
Frank L. Buker, chairman of the
Republican county central commit
tee, was in the city the first of the
week attending the meeting of the
committee. lie returned to his
home at Waldport Tuesday evening.
Superintendent K. C. Egbert of
Siletz was in town Monday on his
way to Portland to attend a civil
case brought to the Federal court
from Grand Ronde.
There will be preaching at Ona
Sunday at 11 a. m. and at Upper
Beaver Creek at 3 p. m. All are

Superintendent and Mrs. R. P.
Coin went Waldport to be in atten
dance at the local teachers' institute
to be held there tomorrow.
C. Hanson has rented his farm,
two miles below town, to a man
from Portland, and will move to
