Accidentally Killed. j Joseph, the 13 year old eon of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Bryant of Nor-j tons was accidentally killed last i Monday by being struck by a heavy I preen xle which killed lnni instant ly. The funeral was held Wednes day. Mr. and Mrs. Bryant are pioneers of Lincoln county and highly respected citizens. The ' sympathy of the entire community is extended to them. No Fort of Siletz. At the special election to decide whether the Port of Siletz should he created the port lost by a vote of twenty -seven against and twenty one for. The precinct vote was, Siletz, yes, 1; no, 7. Kern, yes, 20; no, 20. Married At Siletz, Oregon, June 21, Mrs. Bertha Andrews to Mr. Lee Wheeler, Justice of Peace Fischer performing the ceremony. About a dozen members of the order of Eastern Star went from Toledo to attend a meeting of that lodge at Newport Wednesday even ing. The launch Abigail II. carried the party. The poultry exhibit at the Fair this fall should he no small thing. There are many poultry fanciers in the county and they should all make exhibits of their birds. C. F. Corgan and Win. McKennin of Portland are in this city, the formci visiting his brother, Hugh, of the Modern Improvement com pany. The Corvallis fc Eastern It. R. has just installed some platform scales in the depof here. These scales have a capacity of two tons Spend a pleasant hour at the picture show, nny night in the week, except Monday, W. C. Fischer was over from Si letz yesterday. John Olson of Bay View was in Toledo yesterday. Carl Davis of Siletz was transact ing business here yesterday. Merchant Henry Lewis went to Portland Saturday morning. Chester March returned home Wednesday evening from the Valley. Miss Lillie Miller of Pioneer is attending Summer school at Cor vallis. Moving picture show every even nig in the week, except Monday evening. Bridge Foreman Brown and crew are making some needed repairs around the local depot. Harry Fant came over from the Valley .on the excursion Sunday, returning in the evening. Luther King arrived Saturday evening from Roseburg and " will make his home in Toledo. Miss Esther Copeland went to CorVrtllis Saturday morning where she will attend Summer school. . J. J. Gaither returned home Sat urday evening from a trip to Port land and Kalama, Washington. ' Valentine Thiel returned the first of the week from a trip to Califor nia where he went for his health. Miss Alice Johnson of Portland arrived Wednesday evening for a visit with E. J. Avery and family J. II. McNeil and son, Cecil, ar rived home Saturday evening after having spent the winter in Califor nia. Chas. Bradeson and family are moving out to the logging camp where Charley has accepted a posi tion. Z. M. Derrick and family' were called to Woodbum the first of the week by the illness of Mr. Derrick's brother.
