Waldport Items.
G. D. Burke has tieen engaged to
paint the scenery for Even's hall
and is doing a fine job. When
completed this hall will be equipped
in an up to date manner with ap
propriate scenery for all occassions.
Real estate is still on the move.
This week Cora E. Wann purchased
nine acres near Waldport from Joe
Reynolds and the Axtell place of
320 acres on the Yachats was
bought by J. R. Hays of Oregon
City.
The thanksgiving dance given by
the band' was the best of the season.
There wa3 a large attendance who
did ample justice to the fine Biippcr
served by the lady friends of the
band.
Waldport had a three days shoot
ing tournament last week. The
fun lx?gan Thursday and continued
till dark Saturday evening. Prizes
ranging in value from one to seven
dollars were given which included
everything from a turkey to a quar
ter of beef .
The first school entertainment of
the season was niven Thanksgiving
Eve. A delightful program had
been prepared and this was fully
appreciated by a large audience.
The band assisted with a few appro
priate selections.
C. R. Evens, road supervisor, has
a crew of men at work this week on
the road leading south from Wald
port. Several needed improve
ments in this road are being made
which include the removal of the
road from the schoolhouse block
and opening it up on the east side
of the block.
A play is being prepared by local
talent and will be given for the
benefit of the Sunday School as soon
as the improvements on the hall
are completed. The work on the
hall is progressing nicely and all
will be in readiness sometime before
Christmas.
BEWARE OF FREQUENT COLDS.
A succession of C'd.i or a protracted
cold is almost certaiu to end in chronic
catarrh, from which few persons ever
wholly recover. Gi.e every cold the
attention it deserves and you may avoid
this disagreeable disease. How can
you cure a cold? Why not try Cham
berlain s Coutfli Remedy? It. is highly
recomended. Mra. M. W hite, of But
ler. Tenu., says: "Sev.ral aears ao I
was I iot lie red with my throat auditing
Some one told me of Chamberlain'
CotiKh Remedy. I began using it and
it relieved tne at once. Now my throat
and lungs are sound and well." For
