A Successful Carnival.
Last Friday evening Lincoln
County's Fruit and Vegetable Car
nival closed. From everyjpoint of
view it was more of a success! than
anticipated. The weather was ideal
for the occasion, the exhibits were
many and of most excellent quality
and the attendance and interest
taken was all that could have been
expected. This little impromptu
fair, gotten up in but a few days de
monstrated to our people that this
county is perfectly able to get up a
fair and have as good displays of
fruit and vegetables as any locality
in the state, and a fair every year
is an assured fact.
The bulk cf tho exhibits at the
Carnival were shipped to the Port
land Commercial Club by the To
ledo Development League, under
whose auspices the carnival was
given. This display will be seen
by the thousands of homeseckers
who are arriving in Portland every
day and will be the best advertise
ment this county could possibly
make. It will bring many to our
county.
