Save the best and finest fruit ,

1'ieinto the Fruit and Vegetable
0 rnival at Toledo. It will not
ily help you but will advertise
Lincoln county. There will 1k
many strangers here during the
- Carnival and when they see whut
is being raised here a large per cent
f them will stay and make their
homes here.
It is the duty and should lie the
pleasure of every man, whether in
business or not, in town to join and
help the Toledo Development
league. It is not a secret organiza
tion ; it is open for all to join. You
simply pay a dollar, attend the
meetings and take part in helping
to build and boret ToIdo and Lin
coln county. Nothing so very hard
about it, is there? Join the League
and lie a helper. If you are not
lMMjsting fur your town you are
knocking it.
Some person or persons up on
Hig Elk are making a most earnest
effort to break into jail, and in all
probability they will meet with suc
cess about the time the grand jury
nice s in August. These persons
have been wilfully and maliciously
.cutting the wires of the Lincoln
County Telephone Company. They
have perpetrated this outrage
sSvcral 'times, and have been hav
ing considerable fun out of it, but
as it is a serious offense the fun is
liable to. bo on the other side about
circuit court time.
Don't Waste Your Shekels.
Don't advertise if you believe
you are wasting money. Let your
competitor waste his money on ad
vertising and perhaps in that way
you will put him out of business.
Fix his clock for him. Just stand
back and laugh at him when you
see him squander his money for ink.
Once their was a boy named John

He called this a dry goods store
through a Philadelphia newspaper

merchant laughed.
V.iung John spent $ Go to advertise
with the Philadelphia Lodger just
one time and has been throwing

knew it didn't pay. It was through
sympathy for his poor mother, they
