Boy Wanted.
Under the head "Boy Wanted,"
the South Dakota Spirit publishes
the following clipping which all
parents of a son would do well to
lay before his boy and ask him to
read it for the good advice it con
tains: Boy Wanted One of any
age or breed to fill an important
position. Must have a clean face,
clean habits and a clean heart ; need
not know how to roll a cigarette
nor how beer tastes, and if he is
not up-to-date in all smutty jokes
of the pool room his ignorance will
be overlooked. He must be a boy
who gets up cheerful in the morn
ing, one who can lay down his books
occasionally to do an errond, who
treats his mother and sister and
everylxxly's mother and sister with
respect, and does not refer to his
father as the "old man." ' He must
be truthful, prompt, obedient and
industrious. He must make his
employer's interest his interest, and
never be afraid he is earning more
than his wages. He is wanted to
respond at once to any number.
Merchants want him to sweep out
the store for a few years, ultimately
to take charge of it. Newspaiers
want him to commence with the
crowd at the bottom and work to
the roomy place at the top. He is
wanted everywhere in medicine
practice, in the counting room, to
run great public works. The people
want him for Judge in Court, for
member of Congress, Senator and
President, and the nicest girl in the
world wants him for her husband.
