Pure Food Law.
The pure food law, known as
the Burns hill, passed hy the last
legislature, went into effebt January
1. It resembles the" federal law
and Food Commissioner Bailev
l expects to cooperate with the fed
l oral officials in its enforcement,
says the Oregon Daily Journal.
The law provides that the 'commis
sioner shall have power to make
certain rules and romiLit
ing the sale of foods.
j Tlie law protects dealers from
prosecutions where they have leen
sold adulterated food by wholesalers.
By aid of the - federal authorities
the guilty parties can be aprehended
Avhen they are located in cities out-
side of Oregon.
The new law provides that butter,
groceries and all foods must have a
