Every state which containa a section
of unpatented timber land will prob
ably have its "land fraud" trials in duo

Mark Twain is over in Encland en
gaged in making King Edward laugh.
If the fiiitons size up Mark as a typical
American, it will give us a reputation
a a very frivolous nation. Uoucherkuow.
Seat tle canuers havo quietly stepped
in, purchased all but a minor fraction
of Oregon's small fruit crop, and put
the Oregon packers in a holo. Seattle
enterprise is commendable but slightly
offen&ivo.
New York, Pittsburg aud other parts
of the blessed east report numerous
dentils and prosl rations from excessive
heat. A few sweats havo been heard
from in Oregon recently, but no deaths
or even temporary knockouts.
