Several Toledo people Suudayed
at Yaquina.
We are sorry to hear that Lester
Dobson is in very poor health.
Nothing stirring in town but the
many candidates, and they are
numerous.
Mr. Hansen of Mill 4 has a very
sick child. The doctor has little
hopes of his recovery.
Dick Casteel will conplete his
survey of the road to Alsea. Re
porfnext week.
Mrs. J. Blower and daughter
Mollie of Mill 4 were visiting their
many friends Tuesday.
Ed Meaker will give a free-lunch
reception to his regular customers
every Wednesday morning from 9
to 11 o'clock.
Mrs. Chatterton of Newport and
Mrs. Emery of New Whatcom,
Wash., were shopping and calling
in the city Monday.
The dance last week brought
quite a number of people from
South Beach and the life-saving
station. They report a very agree
able time.
Miss Gertrude Cleaver of Salem
was a guest at the Litchfield resi
dence Friday and went over to
Ona. where she will take charge of
the school.
Louis Jones, an old-time resident
of the bay, is running the passen
ger train in the absence of A.S.
Casteel, who is at the Klamath
mineral springs trying to get rid of
his rheumatism.
If anyone thinks flowers will not
grow in Yaquina they should see

Daniels has been accused of making

We are in receipt of a letter from
a handsome and truthful young
lady residing at Independence,
Colo. It is dated May 21, 1900,
and states that it was snowing hard
on that day. We suppose there are
thousands of poor, shivering mor
tals in that country who have never
heard of the glorious climate of
Lincoln county, Oregon.
