Mr. I. F. Hiser is thinking quite
seriously of soon returning to his
old home in Indiana. He came
here about the first of November j
and to go away now does not give
Oregon a fair show.

Saturday to accommodate Manager

spent their substance for the benefit
of transportation companies. Very

miniug excitement benefit them
selves by the chase. This is his

and D. P. Blue will purchase the
Newport tannery plant and conduct
it during next season. That it is a
paying investment has been already
demonstrated beyond doubt. If
properly pushed much more could
be made than ever has ever been
made in lormer years. mere is
also strong talk of a cannery being
erected at Toledo by a stock com
pany. If this should be done
Toledo will make another stride in
the right direction for the perma
nent upbuilding. This is really
more favorable point for a plant
than Newport
