The Evening Telepram of Port land publishes the following article concerning Yaquina Bay and the Oregon Central & Eastern railroad: "One of the most beautiful rides in Oregon is over the Oregon Cen tral & Eastern railroad from Albany and Corvallis over the Coast Range mountains to Yaquina City and Newport. Passengers can leave Portland on the Roseburg train, of the East Side division of the Southern Pacific system, at 8:30 a. m., arriving at Albany at noon. The O. C. & E. train leaves Al bany at 1 .'30 p. m. Passengers can also leave Portland at 7:30 a. ni. 011 the West Side division of the S. P. railway for Corvallis, arriving there at 12:30 p. m. The Oregon Central & Eastern train leaves Corvallis at 1,50 p. m., reaching Yaquina City about 6 p. m. Pas sengers are transferred to a tug at Yaquina City and ride four miles to Newport, landing there at 6:30 p. m. Yaquina Bay is fast becoming a commercial center as well as a summer resort. Oysters, bass, cod, kelp and halibut are caught there in large quantities. The mountains in that vicinity abound in deer, elk, pigeon ancl other game. Grain, grasses, fruits, and vegetables are raised along the railroad line in large quantities and of the finest variety. The bathing at Yaquina, just inside the north jetty, and in the ocean is a great attraction for visitors.
