TUB wool clip In Washington this yoar
Is romlng from tho sheep In first
class condition. Tho growers In most
cases aro selling early and shearing Is
anywhero from 15 to 30 days ahead of
time. Coarso wools scorn to be selling
vory freely at what Is considered tho nmr
kot price.
Tho Hlbhard-Stowart Company, of Se
attle. Wash., purchased the Coffin clip
of wool at North Yakima and their vari
ous camps on a basis of 22 cants to 23
cents per pound, according to tho clean
ness. This clip consisted of about 250.
000 pounds of wool. Tho same firm also
bought tho Satus Stock Company's wool,
at Toppenlsu. Tho good coarso wools
from eastern points havo been mostly
cleaned up, but Mr. Hlbbard. of tho above
mentioned firm, today stated that they
were ncttvo In purchasing Pugct Sound
valloy wool and also any good, clean
clips of wool from coarso wool sheep.
As to tho value of wool In tho near
future, It will bo entirely determined as
to whether tho war In Europe will bo pro
longed or not. But tho advlco from peo
niS who know Is to tho effect that It Is
bettor to shear early and sell early this
