tho Southern Pacific Is making plans
to start active construction on tho J
bnlnnco of the coaBt line, from Coos '
Dany to Eureka, this spring. ,
Tho official announcement has not
boon made, but for somo time rumor
has It that It would be forthcoming

According to tho Inst report receiv
ed here, somo of tho contracts havo
been, or nro being, nrrnnged for tho
last link In tho line. It Ib said that
Hauser & Ilnuscr, who nro tho con
tractors on about eighteen miles of
tho Coos Hay-Eugeno line, between
Coos Day and Ten Mile, lire to tnko
tho contract for fifty miles of the
oxtenslon, between Coos Day and
Eureka. They nro said to ho pre
paring to start this work, If tho plan
for tho extension goes through, about
April 1.

Coos Day and Eureka, tho last one I
being made loss than two years ago. '
