He fore llepplewblte's time ihe

well, by giving to it the functions of
the the old-time bullet.
Although even at ihat time tea

become very popular throughout F.ng
ln lid. Ilepplewhllo introduced many
articles that had to do with tea
service. Many peculiarly constructed
i' ml choice urn stands, tea trays,
chests, and cuddles are attributed to
him.
llepplewblte's furniture had an in
Iciest lug chacacteclttlc. The legs
tapoced delicately on the Inside faces
i.nly, and were Mulshed with a ball
or square fool. This gave the Im
pression of grit and power to other

There were several stock designs

In t ho backs of chairs. Frequently
a carved ear or corn was used as a
decoration. Ilepplewhlto also made
abundant use of a Priuco or Wales

Tills use of Ihe royal pluuu was at
tributed to his loyalty to Hie Prince
of Wales. It was conclusive proof
of the popularity of tho Prince's

The fact that he was accused by
his enemies of plagiarism does not
detract a bit from his real position.
It shows rather that, like all real
artists, he remained a student until
the close of his career. He never
disdained to proilt by Ihe experience
end teachings of others, even of
those less eminent than bin self.
