With muscles weary and worn,
With arms that throbbed with pain.
A swntlng man with a glassy
eye
Sent up this sad rorrain:
I have broken the chandelier,
I have ruined the parlor lamp,
And the gold-fish bowl Is no longer
whole,
And the rug therefore Is damp.
I have broken the rocking onalr,
I have muttered in words of sin
When I slipped and fell an awful
yell
And lit on my nose nnd chin.
I have stumbled down tho stairs,
1 have swatted with might and
main,
With a mighty smash I broke out n
sash
And removed a window pane.
They have begged mo that I should
stop,
Hut mv burning and tense reply
