Visitors Drop Sunday Game
Here By Score of Ten

By a score of 10 to 9, MarshJicld
tvrosted the flrst game of the season
on the local grounds from the visitors
yesterday. The game was a fairly
good one, despite the high wind and
the poor diamond, tho outilold being
very bad.
Only a few came over from Bandon
with the Bandon team. The latter
team returned home In autos, two
machines taking them from here to
Coqullle, where they caught a boat.
Myrtle Point, Which was expected
to play North Bend at North Bend
yesterday did not put In an appear
ance. Next Sunday the Marshfleld team
will go to Bandon. Whether or hot
" an excursion will be run from here is
not certain as there Is some difficulty
in getting a special train.
Many of the decisions yesterday
were closo and tho crowd and the
"ump" differed, but not seriously,
and both teams fared about the same.
There was only a fair attendance.

evening, as we needed it badly for the
crops and gardens were doing very
poor for want of water.
The Ladles' Aid met at Mr. Pinks
ton's last Wednesday and did quite a
lot of sewing. They will meet at
Mrs. Lowrlo's next Wednesday.
Miss Maud and Ethel Mast of Cal
ifornia are visiting relatives and
friends in Arago. Mr. Mast lived In
this vicinity until fourteen years ago
when the family moved to California.
Last Saturday night, Juno 4th, J.
H. Radabaugh of Fishtrap gave a par
ty for tht young people of Fishtrap
and Arago. There were about 2C or
2S present and all had a very enjoy
able time. The evening was spent
In playing games. Refreshments were
served at midnight.

Joseph Crocket of Prosper had a
very severe attack of heart trouble

life was much despaired of, but at
last report he was much betor.
The Baptists of this place have a
very good Sunday school. They are
scon to start building the new church
edifice, which, if one may judge by
the'plaus and prints, will be a build
ing that will add greatly to the beau
ty of our City-By-the-Sea.
