Tho fire alarm at the High School
is proving to be quite a source of
amusement. Somo tlmo ago O. O.
Lund, in paying a visit to the school
mistook it for a bell ringing" in Su
perintendent Golden's office, and did
not realize his mistake until tho
school was quite emptied of students.
Tho same scene was renewed yes
terday when a man sent by the Coos
Bay Gas &. Electric Company to look
after some work at the school made
tho same error. In an instant all the
students came pouring out of their
rooms and went through tho fire
drill, Most of them, however, sus
pected what had occurred and were
greatly amused over the joke, for
such U is proving to be, as both times
It has happened when most of tho
classes were just in the middle of
heir recitation periods. Superintend
ent Golden is now having a large
notice made, to be hung over the bell
o that In the future there will be
no more fire alarms sent in at var
ious times of tho day unless there
happens to bo a real fire.
Florence Flanagan of the Second
