Hall, who has charge of the ferry

side, reports that during the month
of March, the ferry carried 2,746

Chas. E. Falk, which formerly ran
Into Coos Bay and which was wreck
ed las week near Gray's Harbor on
Puget Sound .Is reported to be a
total wreck.

Sengstacken has revived his "It will

Is Better. Chas. Esterbeck, tho
well-known Catching Inlet rancher,
who was severely gored by a bull a
few weeks ago, Is recovering rapidly.
He Is now able to be up and around
but it will be sometime before he
fully recovers from the injuries.
AV1I1 Fish Here Capt. Boeth of
Yaquica, has brought the gasoline
fishing launch Gazelle to fish in the
banks off the shore between Coos
Bay and the Coqullle. After supply
ing the local market, he plans to
put the balance of his catch on Ice
for shipment Inland.
Moving to Ten Mile. Mr. and
Mrs. A. M. Prentiss are moving thei'
household goods to their new home
on the banks of Ten Mile Lake which
they recently purchased. The piano

JOSEPH BAUD DIES
AFTER SHORT ILLNESS
Succumbs nt General Hospital This
Morning Had Been In This Sec
tion For Many Years.
Joseph Baud, a French timberman
and logger, who has beon In and
around Coos Bay for several years,
died at tho General hospital this
morning. Ho had been ailing for a
week but not until yesterday was
his condition thought serious enough
to call a physician. Tho doctor im
mediately had him sent to the hos
pital but It was too lato to do any
thing for him.
But little Is known of Baud. He
was quiet and told few of his past
history. Ho was about seventy
years old and Is understood to havo
participated In somo of tho French
wars. Ho will be burled from tho
Tomplo & Wilson Undertaking Par
lors Thursday afternoon.
