Tho Marshfield City Council will meet Tuesday night to take up variovs city business. Fine Elk Head. Fred Haines has placed on exhibition in "The Smoke house" ono of the finest Elk heads ever seen here. It Is about six feet from- -tip to Up. It -was killed by Mr. Kaines In Montana last winter and the taxidermist who mounted lt pronounced, tt t? l'est f more, than one hundred heads ho had mounted. Dredge to Move. The Dredge Oregon has practically completed Its work near the C. A. Smith mill and tho Llbby coal bunkers and will move In a day or two to tho shoal near the Cold Storage Plant. As soon as the "latter work Is complet ed! the dredge wlil begin on its Broadway filling contract, deepening and widening tho channel across from Broadway. Since Capt. SAYS LEAGUE WRONGED SANDBERG IN ACTION Friends of City Engineer Claim Thnt He Is Being Condemned For Acts of (ho City Council. Friends of City Engineer P. A. Sandberg are incensed over the ac tion of the Citizen's League in cen suring Mr. Sandberg In the way they did. "Tho Citizen's League should havo been fair In its criticism," re marked a friend of Mr. Sandberg's today. "Instead of making a broad statement, lt should havo pointed out some of the things it found fault with him for. Mr. Sandberg probably has made a few mistakes but he should be given credit for tho good things he has done. Ho has been censured much by various citi zens for street grades and fo'r tho' trouble over street grades, tho coun cil Instead of Mr. Sandberg, Is to blame. Ho went ahead and estab lished grades that he, as an engin eer, knew to bo proper. Then somo of tho property-owners would kiok to tho city council and the latter would agree to change lt.
