when he receives the report of the
commission on country life which ho
appointed and of which Henry "Wal
lace of this city is a member. Mr.
Wallace was In Des Moines for a
short time yestdrday after visiting
sixteen states, en route to Illinois to
attend a hearing, and he. told some

Commercial club has a novel scheme
for advertising Oregon. Ho Is in
Chicago and will bring fifty Bchool
children to Portland" at tho expense
of the publicity bodies of that city,
believing that the children will bo
a good advertisement when they re
turn home. The Chicago Record
Herald of recent data publishes a
picture of Mr. Richardson and has
tho following to say regarding his
plan:
"Thomas Richardson, who is going

c-hltdren to pay an extended visit to
the Pacific Northwest at tho exponso
of tho commercial Interests of that
section and then to come homo nnd
educate Chicago, Is president of the
Commercial Club of Portland,, Ore.
