INTRODUCE HOLSTER.
Prosecution In Thornton Ilnins
Case Hns More Evidence.
(By Associated Press.)
FLUSHING, Dec. 23. A revolver
holster was introduced as. evidence
In the Thornton Halns trial today.
It was found strapped under the arm
of Captain Peter Halns after his ar
rest. The state contends that the
'Wearing of such a holster in a posi
tion so the revolver could be quickly
drawn clearly shows that Halns left
Fort Hamilton with tho intention of
killing Annls and disproves any sug
gestion that he became suddenly In
Isane at the sight of Annls. The
counsel further contends that Thorn-
ton must have known his brother
officer was armed and going out to
hunt a victim.
By a European process flour Is
compressed Into blocks for preserva
tion. Tho treatment kills all form
of larval life and prevents ravages
of insects.

Roost For America.
CHICAGO, Dec. 22. Any man
who Is a bear, on tho future of this
country will go broke.
J. Plerpont Morgan, in a circle
of friends and business associates at
the Chicago club yesterday, pointed
to this sentiment, given to him yei.s
eo by his father, as tho basis of his
business career and the secret of Mi,
unfailing optimism In spite of panics
and reserves.
In further quoting his father, Mr.
Morgan, remarked:
"Father also said: 'Thero may
bo times when things are dark and
cloudy in America, when uncertainty
will cause some to distrust and others
to think there is too much produc
tion, too much building of railroads
and too much development in other
enterprises, but In such times and
at all times, remember the great
growth of that vast country will take
care of all.' "
