young Child Dies. The Infant son
of Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Totten of the
local pumping station, died Sunday.
The child was but a few days old.
The funeral arrangements have not
been announced.
Gosi Gets Ducking. John D. Goss
took a bath yesterday that he had
not bargained for. He and George
Goodrum, Ray Kaufman and Russ
Tower were up Haines Inlet duck
hunting. ,Goss was standing In the
front of the boat when the craft
lurched suddenly. He went In head
first nnd was finally fished out, the
wettest individual that you ever saw.
He was taken back to camp, a Are
built and some old clothes furnished
whiln his suit was drying. Mean
while tho others went out and secur
ed nineteen birds.
New Company Makes Hit. Cra
mer's stock company scored a big
hit In "My Friend Brown" at tha
Masonic Opera House Saturday and
Sunday evenings. Last evening, a
largo audience witnessed the produc
tion. Many declared tho now com
pany to he tho best that has over
nlaved on Coos Bay. The play was
a good one, all members of the cast
presenting the characters well. Mr.
Cramer will play the Coqulllo valley
towns early this -week and will re
turn to Coos Bay the latter part of
the week. He expects some mem
bers for his company from 'Frisco
soon.
MBS. EARLY, sister of the Rev.
Father E. Donnelly, is at Mercy
hospital recuperating from an
attack of the grip.
DR. GEO. E. DIX who left here a
week ago for Montana on buslnoss
was called to his old home In Ro
chester, Minn., by the Illness of
his mother.
MRS. M. R. BROWN, who was
called to California recently by
the Illness of her daughter, Mrs.
Robert Hazen, returned with tho
lntter to Marshfleld. Mrs. Hazen
