GIVE VIEWS
OF COOS BAY
Editor Coos Bay Times,
If you will allow a stranger a
small space in your paper to give
his limited views of what he thinks
of your city and her future, I will
say a few things.
The first good Impression of your
progressive town that greeted my
eye was your asphalt streets and also
the number of men employed in the
construction of streets and side
walks, and also the many nice resi
dences in course of construction, all
of which goes to show the stranger
shows that above operating ex- that your Board of Trade and citi-
penses, interest on the funded debt
and the cost of the Improvements,
the road had over $20,000 net earn-
zens generally are a progressive peo
ple and believe in a bright future for
Coos Bay and a larger monthly pay
lngs. Of course, this wouldn't mean roiU the angel of prosperity,
a very Dig dividend on $2,000,000
capital stock and figuring Interest
on this $2,000,000 would show a
loss or the year.
Sometime ago, General Manager
C. J. Millls stated that the road's
business was showing a continual
gain from month to month over the
previous year. This winter, the
road will undoubtedly handle a
much greater lousiness than ever be
fore as the C. A. 'Smith Lumher
Company win sliip many logs over
it.

I had the pleasure of attending
