funeral of Miss Agnes O. Ruth, tho
Marshfleld nurse who died In San
Francisco suddenly about two weeks
ago, was held from tho Temple &
Wilson Undertaking Parlors on
Broadway this afternoon. It was
largely attended, man from North
Inlet where her parents reside being
In attendance. Death was due to
epilepsy.
Relative Died. Peter Mlrrasoul
and wife, and Chas. Schaufel and
wife, have gone to San Francisco to
attend the funeral of Mrs. Mlrra
soiil's mother,' Mrs. Slegel, who died
there a few days ago.
Leases Ranch. Anson O. Rogers
has leased the Coos River ranch of
his father, Anson Rogers, and will
conduct the place In the future. Mr.
Rogers, Sr., expects to erect a cot
tage on Fifth street on Knob Hill
soon and will move "to this city tQ
reside.
Wants Ferry Finished. John
Bear is starting a crusade to secure
an early completion of the ferry. Ho
says that nine teams from Roseburg
wore in Eastside tho last few days
and wanted to cross over to Marsh
fleld but could not on account of the
Marshfleld ferry slip not being com
pleted. The matter will probably be
taken up with the Marshfleld city
council.
Court In December. The adjourn
ed term" of circuit court for this
county will convene Friday, Decem
ber 11, and the regular term Mon
'day, Decenjber 14. At present there
is only one case on the criminal
docket and that is of a party at
Myrtle Point for shooting a dog.
Sheriff Gage says that he has not
received any orders to impanel u
jury for the coming term, and that
probnbly the court will only consider
chanCSry cases.
Dies at Myrtle Point. W .H. Ray
died at the home of his son, W. Lee
Ray, in Myrtle Point, last Saturday,
after a lingering illness due to old
age. Ho was eighty-two years old
and moved here from Norton, Kas.,
two years ago to be near his chil
dren. Besides W. Leo Ray, the de
ceased is survived by two other sons.
W. F. Ray of Coos Bay and J. S.
Ray of Windsor, Colo., and a daugh
ter, Mrs. J. H. Hurst of Alena, Kas.
All were with him shortly prior to
his death. Tho funeral was held at
Myrtle Point this week.

Socialist orator, arrived here today
from Portland to aid the local So
cialists in their work.

at tho home of her daughtor, Mrs.
Geo. Gould on Coos River.

organize a club. He and the people
he represents are anxious to promote

terviewing owners of local launches
and other pleasure crafts. If a suf
ficient number take an Interest in
tho matter, he will endeavor to assist
them in securing a wharf of their
own, boat houses, select a course,
etc.
