A CURE FOR RHEUMATISM.
Each recurring attack of rheuma
tism makes the disease harder to
control, but the fact that it is not
in itself dangerous causes people to
neglect It, awaiting a change or a
settled condition of the weather for
relief. It is often only after tho dis
ease has become so serious as to in
terfere with business that the suf
ferer will seek more than temporary
relief. Chamberlain's Liniment is a
remedy for rheumatism which any
one can apply. It not only gives
prompt relief from pain, but In a
large majority of cases it brings
about permanent results. The first
application will surprise and delight
you as immediate relief is almost
sure to follow. For sale by JOHN
PREUSS.

Kill Several Rears. George Gould
of North Coos River, has killed three

received by F. C. Burch today. Two
of the boars and the wild cat were
caught in trips near tho Gould

showing that big game is not en
tirely extinct yet.
Rig Rand of Elk. County Treas
urer J. E. Sawyers, who hunted for
elk and bagged a monster buck In
the Coos River country a few weeks
ago, estimates that the elks in tho
region between the Coos and Umpquu
rivers number not less than 300.
Owing to their well-nigh Inaccessible
haunts, Mr. Sawyers thinks there
is little danger of a complete slaugh
ter of this hig band. There is a
growing fear, however, that tho days
of the Oregon elk are numbered un
less the legislature passes a protec
tive law. The season is scheduled to
re-open next September. Roseburg
