Mile, about a half-mile above tho

and Edward Edmonds have leased
quarters in the M. C. Horton build:

electric wiring and supply house in
a few days.
Dance Friday. Owing to Inability
of all tho musicians of tho Coos Bay
Orchestra to be present Saturday
evening, the regular weekly dance
will take place on Friday evening
this week at Red Men's Hall.
Many Brush Fires. Many brush
fires are being started around tho
Bay to clear tracts that have been
cut over tho past year. Tho law re
quiring permits and tho exercising
of precautions to provent the fires
spreading is being strictly enforced.
Start Baiulon Mill. L. J. Cody of
Bandon, Is In tho city on business.
Mr. Cody expects to start tho mill of
the Cody Lumber Company tho first
of 'tho month. Owing to the low pri
ces of lumber, the mill, like most of
the others on the Coqullle, has been
closed for sometime.
Coos County Statistics. Accordj"
lng to the monthly report of vital
statistics filed by County health of
ficer, Dr. Culln of Coqullle, thero
were sixteen births, eleven males
and five females, in August. There
were seven deaths, flvo males and
two females during the same month.
